PO.DAAC
Physical Oceanography Data Active Archive Center
PO.DAAC is an element of the Earth Observing System Data Information System (EOSDIS) and a member of the DAAC Alliance. PO.DAAC is responsible for archiving and distributing data relevant to the physical state of the ocean. Most of the products available at the PO.DAAC were obtained or derived from satellites remote sensing instruments and are used in oceanographic and interdisciplinary scientific research. PO.DAAC's core holdings include data on sea surface height, winds, and temperature. These data are used to better understand natural phenomena such as El Niño/La Niña and ocean/land/atmosphere interactions and processes of the earth in general.
Raytheon Pasadena provides sustaining engineering and operations support to the PO.DAAC in the following areas:
- Data Management
- Database Management and Administration
- Metrics Collection and Reporting
- Data Stream Monitoring and Distribution
- Data Refresh, Backup, Validation and Quality Assurance
- Infrastructure Management
- System Administration
- Hardware and Media Technology Evaluation and Insertion
- System Integration and Test
- System Security
- Configuration Management and Control
- User Services
- User Interface Tools Configuration, Customization and Maintenance
The PO.DAAC Systems attributes include:
- Hardware:
- Over 50 Servers
